| - I've realized there's two ways you can give stars, you can give it based on how much you like it, or based on how good it is at what it's supposed to be. This for starts is the latter.
I've never had arepas before, but it's a weird mix between a taco and slider inside of a crumbly white corn bun. The bun to me is what really separates it from anything else. It's like cornbread, texture wise with not much taste. Wasn't exactly my favorite part of the meal. It did have a good crunch from them coming on the griddle though.
The filing is very similar to tacos. We got the wood fire beef (#1) which is like diced beef, pork belly (#4?), and chicken (#7). The best was the beef. The pork belly reminded me of frozen pre made pulled pork with heavy sauce. The chicken was way too over sauced and the sauce was just creamy, no flavor.
The food also came with two sauce, a spicy sauce, and the same sauce they used with the chicken arepa. The spicy sauce was very forgettable, hardly any spice. The cream sauce way actually decent and tasted better in smaller doses then flooded with chicken.
Overall this was not my favorite experience, but I realize it maybe more sure to my taste buds than anything they did.
