First of all, I never write reviews. I love animals so I want to warn other people. I brought my cat here on 2 occasions. The first visit went pretty well. My cat was not real critical that time but I thought she needed some medical attention and no vets were open at that time. My experience wasn't bad so when I needed her seen again a couple of days ago, I came back here. This time my cat was in a much more critical state as she had rapid breathing. They took her in immediately as critical which is fine. I was willing to pay that fee for immediate attention...no problem. After checking her out, the vet told me she had fluid around her heart and she wanted to keep her overnight and try to stabilize her breathing. She felt that she probably had heart disease that was leading into heart failure and wanted to treat it as such. Fees were high but I was ok with that as long as they were going to make a serious attempt to save my baby. OK...this is where they started to fail. When the vet called me the 1st time to give me an update she said the medication wasn't working and wanted to know if I wanted her to try and draw the fluid out of her chest. I of course said yes. When she called me again at 2:30 am she said that they were able to draw some fluid and she looked at it and saw some abnormal cells but couldn't say for sure if they were cancerous She said she tried other attempts to draw fluid but my cat would flop over on her side because she didn't want it done.. She said she wasn't seeing any improvement from the meds so she really felt she had cancer. I asked her about other meds but she said the one they were using was the most effective. She said my cat was dehydrated and they needed to get fluids in her. Wow..did you ever think they maybe the meds you were giving her were causing dehydration!! That happens to be a side effect....I looked it up. I told her to continue to proceed as if she had heart disease. I went up there the next morning and they had done nothing else to help her. To make a very long story short....I ended up putting my cat down and I feel these vets failed her. When you work in emergency you are responsible to do everything you can to save an animals life and that's where I believe they failed. They should have tried a different med on her and held her down to take the fluid out if necessary. Could have been done in multiple sessions if necessary as she needed oxygen to help her breathing. Saying she "just flopped over on her side" is unacceptable!!! It's an emergency...force the issue!! I feel like I paid $$ for nothing. I might have been better off if I kept her at home and took her to a vet when they were open. Unfortunately, I will never know.
