  • Decent little fruiterie on the Plaza. I do most of my small grocery runs here as it opens early (8am during the week, 9am on weekends I think) and has a good selection of everything from fruits and veggies (obviously) to charcuterie and bread. Their meats come from local farms, many of which are organic or antibiotic/hormone-free, which is nice. There is a decent organic selection but you have to look for the items and they seem to rotate frequently.The sale items outside and throughout the store are worth checking out. I'd say the produce is in good condition and far from spoiling. My ONE irk with this place, like with many Montreal produce shops, is the excessive use of styrofoam + plastic wrap. Basically, everything is wrapped. You want one jalapeño pepper? Well, you can buy a package of 12. They are good about letting you open them (ask first) to split the package. You can also leave the styrofoam plate at the till or return them. Still, I would love to see these begone.
