  • I always breathlessly mention "it's at Town Square!" in other reviews, like that should seal the deal, go there NOW, take the family and a camera and then scrapbook your visit when you get home, that kind of thing. How remiss of me not to actually review the place itself. Some things the world should know about Town Square: Good parking: Okay, so you're almost never going to score that metered spot right in front of the Apple Store, and I'm sure we've all excitedly seen a space only to discover it was for taxis only, but the garages are convenient, clean, and only a little scary if the other driver isn't paying attention near the base of the ramp. (And if you do get a metered spot, how often is that enforced?) Plus there are large lots near the cinema and Whole Foods/Staples as well as valet. Rave Motion Pictures and Whole Foods: anchoring the west and east ends of the complex, respectively. I've written separate reviews on why these are nice to have. It's "everyday" stuff like this that keeps Town Square from being just another place on Las Vegas Boulevard for people to buy clothes. (Note: Rave also has started serving cocktails inside its cinemas. As in, you're in your seat, waiting for the movie, and a waitress will come through the theatre, taking orders. Ah, Vegas!) Location: I don't actually have to get near the Strip to access Town Square, but it's still close enough for tourists to enjoy. Fresh Air: It's hard to go outside in this hot, hot, hot town when so much lovely air conditioning is beckoning. Town Square has shade and misters and a pleasant place to walk when the sun goes down, so you don't feel like your life is being measured in trips from the car to your next enclosed destination. Dining: We've seen and are continuing to see a lot of coming and going in the restaurant scene here, but there's always something for everyone. At the top of my list is Yard House for everything (seriously, everything), Coconuts (see my review for disclaimers) for lunch, and Tommy Bahamas for key lime pie. Other Food: As much as I like Whole Foods for grocery shopping, Bon Breads is THE place to get your bread. (Again, see my review.) It's tucked in behind Tommy Bahamas and easy to miss. And as much as like a chocolate frappuccino, Godiva's chocolixirs will beat them every time. Get one at Godiva near Brio, around the corner from California Pizza Kitchen. Otherwise, Town Square abounds with walk-up stands for pretzels, cookies, etc., and don't forget the mongo candy store over by the theatre. The Other Theatre: Not just the movies, but TS now has a venue for actual dramatic productions. Classy! The Places I Don't Go: I don't care about clothes, office supplies, Hello Kitty, guitars, bars, or better living through snazzy containers, so I can't talk about most of Town Square's retail and social scene. And yet I still love it. How's that for a recommendation?
