Pros: Decorations were great. They did a good job transitioning from the daytime fall festival to scarowinds at night. There were lots of costumed staff to try and scare people. The Cirque show moved outside so it was open to everyone passing by which was cool. You can get a "boo" necklace so the staff doesn't try to scare you.
Cons: TOO much fog made it hard to breathe at times. There were select attractions you needed a special pass called a skeleton key to enter, which was an upcharge. As a season pass holder who follows carowinds on facebook, has the carowinds app, and allows emails from carowinds, I knew nothing of this pass until I was denied entrance to one of the attractions. I looked it up the next day and the only way I could find to get the pass was to also get the fastlane pass which is a pretty hefty add on. The biggest con for me though was it is just so crowded. I hadn't been to scarowinds in a couple of years and forgot how crowded it is. Almost hard to walk.
Overall I had a good time and I'm glad I went. Had I not had a seasons pass and paid admission I probably wouldn't have thought it worth the money.
