| - It's unfortunate I have to rate them so low. I've stayed here a couple times and always had a great time, although that was a few years ago now and things have changed.
Hotel Review:
Overall sucked. I don't know how else to say it. I remember getting a "Go" room years back and it was swanky and fun, really Vegas-like. We booked a "Go" room and drove over for a couple nights. We also paid more for a "high roller view". First annoyance was the check-in process. There wasn't maybe 3 couples in front of us and it still took forever. I could've Netflix'd half a TV show during the wait. When we eventually got up to our "high roller view", even after asking the check-in guy about the view and being told it was great, it was terrible. I kid you not we opened the drapes to a view of an adjacent window. So, we called down and told them not only did the view stink, two lights were out and there was someone else's beer cap on the floor. So, they had one "strip view" left but we had to go back downstairs to the line to get new keys. I thought maybe they'd have someone meet us like at other places but that didn't happen.
Okay, it's Las Vegas. Most people party, yeah? Or at least do something to wake up with a headache. Nothing like popping an Advil and then stepping into a COLD SHOWER. I turned it on and waited, and waited, and waited and the water was puke-warm at best. That on top of no water pressure I was really disappointed. Called down to guest services and the lady made it sound like there had been a water problem but that it was now fixed. She said they'd send an engineer up. Not sure if this engineer ever came because we went out on the town but that night and the next day it was still warm, and I say that generously. Not a good idea in any hotel, let alone a place like Vegas where you need some morning sin bathing.
The casino was fun. Definitely old and smokey compared to some but I like the history part of the Flamingo and LOVE the Margaritaville casino, although it blows my mind how much some of the employees complain about having to listen to 8 hours of Jimmy Buffett music...sign me up!
Overall the machines were tight. But playing slots in Vegas isn't the wisest move in the world either. Tables were fun, ambiance was fun and the all night dining downstairs was a life saver.
Overall an okay stay. The hotel was definitely a disappointment and from reading some other reviews, they should probably figure out the hot water problem because it's enough to get people to stay elsewhere.
