| - Whenever I complain about this store, my friends say "but it smells good." and yes, it does. I'm not exactly sure why a "book store" has so many other things for sale, the usual board games but also purses, candy, toys, gardening supplies, soaps, candles, cooking equipment, etc. I don't think the selection of books is very good, unless you have very popular interests. I always seem to wander around clueless, looking for a particular section, and am inevitably disappointed when I get there. Maybe because there are so many other things on the shelves besides books. Or maybe because the store doesn't have a computer/kiosk for patrons to use to look up titles and authors (like you would find at Borders). Instead you have to rely on the employees who never seem to make themselves useful.
There is a nice selection of magazines, some cozy chairs and corners, a cafe, and a wide variety of stationery (although entertainingly, the aisles of magazines have benches in them, so if someone is sitting there reading a magazine, there is not enough room to reach in and get your own copy).
After seeing the state of the bathrooms I probably would not eat here, if that is the same bathroom the employees use as well. Not to mention the ridiculous prices - I once saw a game of scrabble for $30 that was $7.99 at Wal-Mart. But I guess if you want a bookstore that smells good, here you go!
