| - i brought my dog to this clinic for a suspected toxicity, and made it clear to the receptionist on arrival that money was no object. we were the only ones in the clinic on arrival, and the wait time was still impressive.
it is standard practice for emergency stabilization to place a catheter in the animal, and starting IV fluids asap is especially important with toxicity cases. after 2 hours waiting, i asked if my dog had a catheter and fluids yet, but the receptionist seemed irritated by my questions. eventually a different woman came out and told me that yes, my dog did have a catheter and fluids started. i asked if i could go back and say goodbye before i left, and she said she would go see if it was OK. another hour later, no one has said anything, so i have to ask again. i finally get permission to go back and see my dog - 3 hours later - with no catheter, no fluids.
for an emergency clinic to not adequately treat and stabilize my dog for 3 hours after admission, being the only clients in the lobby, was extremely disappointing. if you have a serious emergency that requires proper, timely stabilization, go somewhere else.
