  • I've heard good things about this place and was very excited to try a macaron ice cream sandwich. My boyfriend has been to the location on Jones but didn't know there was one on Fort Apache. When we first entered there was no one behind the counter and a lady was sitting on one of the tables looking a little confused as she stared at the counter. We weren't sure if she was waiting to order so we stood to the side as we looked at the menu. The menu was pretty straight forward, it had its boba, ice cream and desserts listed however the macaron flavors weren't anywhere on the menu. When we went to look at the ice cream we noticed that all the tubs of ice cream had a lid on them which I've never seen at an ice cream establishment before. After five minutes, we started to considered leaving as there were no employees available to place an order with but we decided to give it a few more minutes. At this point the door "ding'd" and a lady walked through the door, behind the counter and into the back without greeting us. She came back out holding a plastic bag and handed it to the lady who was waiting at the table. She then turned to us and asked for our order. We were a little hesitant at this point but decided to give the place a shot. There were only two macaron flavors available: vanilla and strawberry. I ordered a vanilla macaron with green tea ice cream and my boyfriend ordered a vanilla macaron with thai tea ice cream. When our order was ready we picked it up at the counter, watched the lady immediately disappear outside as we sat down at one of the tables. When we opened the containers, we were surprised by how big they were. Upon taking a bite, the macaron tasted a little burnt and was a little hard to chew. I ended up taking the sandwich apart and just eating the ice cream which I thought didn't taste right, the green tea ice cream didn't have that hint of sweetness that I love. My boyfriend thought it was weird that his thai tea ice cream was pink and tasted nothing like thai tea. We ended up not finishing our sandwiches and leaving. I won't be coming back to this location based on the service and quality.
