I've passed by this place many times and have been wanting to try it out. Finally decided today was the day!
Upon entering, we we greeted by the owners. Very nice people.
Their menu is plentiful w/ appetizers galore, soups/udons, noodles, and sushi.
What we ordered:
Yoshi Roll- I was told it was Shrimp Tempura inside with Yellowtail and jalapeno on top. I was contemplating getting a roll or yellowtail sashimi w/ jalapeno on top. This was the best of both worlds. Decent flavor, taste the spiciness of the jalapeno + hot sauce, nothing that amazed me though.
Mixed tempura appetizer- We asked the lady how many pieces of shrimp this $6 appetizer came with and she said "three". Only two pieces of shrimp along with the standard assortment of veggies. :(
Gyoza- Delicious. Made with turkey instead of pork. These were good and I'd eat this all the time here.
Chicken teriyaki (kid's plate) - Came with rice, miso soup, and a salad. Not bad. The miso soup has small pieces of vermicelli noodles. Nice different touch.
Baked mussels- Yummy! 4 nicely sized mussels, came out nice and hot.
Chokomoko ice cream sandwich- Looked awesome, tasted great. The waffle could have had more of a crunch to it the way it would be if you were eating an ice cream cone. It was soft instead. But it was fun to dip that into the whipped cream and chocolate.
The service was fair. The staff was pretty attentive. Only once did I have my glass of water down to just ice cubes. I'd give them 3.5 stars if I could.
