  • For the last year I have had Sahara come out and check my furnace and ac units to make sure they are working correctly. This summer I noticed my electric bill being about $100 more a month then last summer, so I knew something was wrong. Robert came out today and showed me that they were both on their last leg. I asked what it would cost to replace them and he worked up a quote for me. I will be calling shortly to schedule them to install new furnace/ac units. Robert was very knowledgeable and explained everything to me, and that is always great! He is going to see if he can get me a little more of a discount too, I REALLY hope he can. If everything goes good they will have a customer for life! I will update this if there is a problem. :) Update 3/25/18 I got the air purification uv lights (not cheap) in about September because the insulation smell still came out of the vents when just the fan was on. This time of year I have to have the fan on all the time for air circulation and I can't handle the insulation smell. My husband and his friend looked up in the attic and there were 5 different places where the vents had small holes in them, but there were no holes before I got the new furnace. It was very hard for my husband to find them, and it took a long time because he does not have any special equipment to do what a furnace/ac company SHOULD do. I tried to call Blake again at Sahara Air so they could fix it. He wasn't there and never called me back! I actually believed he would make sure to fix it, guess I was wrong. My husband fixed the leaks he could find, and it is 99.5% fixed (I was hoping 100%). Now the bad smell comes out only for a minute when the A/C turns off. I am thinking that there is still a leak, but of course my husband does not have the equipment to thoroughly check. It has taken so long for the update because when the heat is on it works great, but recently I have used the air once or twice, and noticed the smell AGAIN! So the bottom line is that they were REALLY good at first, then it went down hill when I paid them about $17000 for the new furnace and A/C. Blake did have a vent cleaning company come out to inspect (can't remember their name), and they said there was no leaks. They didn't tell me how they checked (just camera looking would not see anything unless it was a big hole), also I know there were 5 that my husband found later. They told me the smell was because of the insulation that surrounded the main vent, but that is not true either. All I know is it was not fixed. When I got the air purifiers they only charged me for 1 (instead of 2). It didn't have that horrible smell with the heat, but when it is the A/C it is still there when it first turns off. They got 2 stars because they are good as long as you don't get an entirely new system from them.
