I made the mistake of referring my daughter to Creative Leather, Scottsdale based on a purchase of furniture made years ago. After she and her husband spent nearly $10,000 3 years ago on the custom-made L-shaped large sofa, she was horrified to discover that the leather on one section of the sofa's cushions suddenly started showing peculiar brownish-black marks coming through the lighter colored leather. Not only was Creative Leather not interested in dealing with the problem, but they were also rude and condescending--insisting that the discoloration was normal without ever seeing anything but a picture of it. After a frustrating series of back and forth calls with the company, my daughter and her husband decided to hire a leather expert originally from Italy to look at the spots. He determined that the problem was in the original leather and appeared to render it unable to retain the dye. I've seen the sectional and it's easy to spot the problem which on close inspection appears to cover a wide area of the hide on that back cushion of the sofa. The two larger discolorations appear to be surrounded by pinpricks of discoloration but the marks do not in any fashion appear to be spots of wear. It's also a section that is least used and not part of the large area of the sofa must often used. In any case, expensive top-grain leather furniture shouldn't begin wearing out in only three years. Stay away from this business--they'll take your money, lots of it, but then won't have anything to do with you if a problem occurs.
