Complaint Detail: ELDER ABUSE, FINANCIAL AND VERBAL
Complaint Type: Customer Service Issues
Problem:
Subject: Elder Abuse at AutoNation, 6330 E Superstition Springs Blvd. Mesa, AZ 85206 Date of repair:10/5/16 Unfortunately I had an unforgettable, convoluted, head still shaking experience, after taking my car, 2003 Trailblazer LTZ with 93K in for a Check Engine Light. Diagnostic Test ($139 charge) gave a P0440 code. Naively, and obviously, not being familiar with cars as the Svc Mgr, Mark Thomas, describes his Crew, as highly skilled and trained individuals as ALL our mechanics are :-) Svc Writer, Tony Munoz, also said my gas tank has been recalled and we can replace that for you. It will take a day to get a new tank. The new gas tank would arrive Sat. Oct. 1st., and that he and the mechanic worked Sat.. again, strange. Do these 2 ALWAYS work the same hours ?? and agree to the same diagnosis and order or repairs ?? Once I got home I called Tony, the svc writer, to see what the CODE was, he said a P0440. I googled P0440 and was amazed. The mechanic said it was a bad purge value.. he replaced it before installing a new gas tank, or even checking my after market gas cap, and my gas tank was RECALLED for a leak in the Filler hose.. ANOTHER CAUSE OF A P0440. :-) another cause the highly trained and skilled mechanic, and svc writer should have checked is a leaking gas cap.. AGAIN :-) is this a set up or what ??? IT NEEDS TO STOP !!! Svc Mgr, Mark Thomas, says his mechanics are well educated, trained, and experienced. but yet they didn't take into account the leaking RECALLED gas tank or after market gas cap into account for his DIAGNOSTIC and repair sequence decisions... BUT STILL HE COULD SPOT THE EXTREMELY HARD TO SEE WEATHERED RUBBER BUSHINGS THAT SHOULE BE REPLACED, FOR $800 :-) HE HAD TO PUT IT ON A HOIST TO SPOT THEM.. ?? What 2003 car pushing 100K miles, living in Mesa AZ, doesn't have the same problem ?? Tony said, "I AGREE" .. but to hit up a Senior for another unnecessary repair is despicable.. and the smart ***** mechanic said at least you don't have to pay for the $800 repair !!! WTH, why is he EVEN talking about my FINANCES ? "NOTHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN UNTIL YOU (SO CALLED) COURTS SEND A MESSAGE, FINES, JAIL.. TO THOSE WHO RIP OFF SENOR'S ON A DAILY BASIS.. YOUR MOM, YOUR DAD..GRANDMA, GRANDPA ?? THE MECHANIC, already knew the code was a P0440, why did he have to put my car on a lift..? Mgr says because we DO THAT AS A PUBLIC SVC to you, yea BS.. he also said you agreed to it.. I NEVER DID, IT WAS NEVER MENTIONED.. my car was gone so fast I felt a breeze.. THIS IS ANOTHER SENIOR RIP OFF "YOU AGREED TO IT", I DID NOT AGREE TO IT AND I HAVE HAD OIL CHANGES AND ALWAYS SAY "DO NOT INSPECT MY VEHICLE".. just an oil change please.. One time they even screwed up the oil change and after my Oil indicator has never been the same.. now it pushes 80 PSI.. Thanks all you skilled and trained Autonation mechanics.. I guess that's why a day after they replaced the purge value (I THINK) a similar part broke.. and of course the SvC Mgr said it was coincidental .. Ya Right !! I have the feeling if you check their repair records over the past 10? years, the age of the vehicle owner(s), reason for bringing car in for svc. ORIGINAL EST AND FINAL BILL you will end up with some AMAZING DATA AND MOST AGAINST SENIOR'S.. Instigated by similar teams over time.. So you have to get ages in your research.. Seems as soon as a GM Mechanic gets under the hood things go wrong shortly down the road. I want Autonation to check the repairs done by these guys and see if they are yanking Senior's chain and scarring them to death both with repairs needed or not, or saying the bill is NO PROBLEM, SO PAY IT !!! says the young sarcastic, smart ***** mechanic who should never get into a debate over repairs with a senior.. that's the SVC MGR's job.. and it's not fair to 'GANG" UP on a senior.. I wanted a meeting with the Svc mgr, not his 3 CYA cohorts.. I'm filing this complaint not only for me, but all the other poo
