My family and I first went into sprint because we decided to leave T-Mobile. After 11 years of doing business with them the quality of customer service changed and we felt it was time to move on if the company values didn't match our own.
After some friends and family recommended Sprint we went to the Mesa AZ location on Alma School Rd and Southern. We were greeted by the store manager He was nice and explained how his store had won some national contest for best customer service. I sincerely hope that was a lie because I cannot imagine how bad the rest of the country must be if this is the best. When we left we thought we got a killer deal. He had given us some free goodies and we were so excited and we felt like he worked really hard to get us set up that day. He even told us that we could get cases and screen protectors for all 4 phones for $20 all together. I promised I would be back to take him up on that deal the following Tuesday when we had everyone with us to choose their cases. We thanked him and went on our way.
Free goodies don't equate to good service. We unfortunately found out later that it was all a really great act that he had seemingly perfected over the years of getting people to sign up for things they don't need. He talked us into a bigger plan and getting more phones than we should have because it was "the best deal with everything we wanted". He created our password and pin for us without telling us what they were so when my first pets name was "dog" I was unable to guess the password (pin is still unknown) and couldn't gain access to my account either online or through customer service.
While we were in there we gave him 3 T-Mobile phones for which he said we would get prepaid visa cards in the mail of a few hundred dollars a piece which have yet to show up. Of course I couldn't call customer service about this issue because I didn't have the pin or password. He was also supposed to add me as an authorized user because although the account is in my mother's name she doesn't want to deal with the troubles that come with accounts so I take care of it all (he knew this). After being told they could not access my account on the phone or online I was told to go into a store to show my ID. I went into a different store on my way home from work yesterday just to accomplish nothing. The employee told me I was not an authorized user and would have to bring my disabled mother in to take care of it. I was livid.
I picked up my mother and we drove back to the same store we signed up in. The manager who previously "helped" us ignored us even though he was well within earshot as we described our terrible experience to the other employee. The employee told us the reason we had not gotten money for the phones is because we had to turn in a T-Mobile statement showing our termination fees. That was NEVER explained to us or I would have taken it in that day! He was also the one who discovered that our account password was "dog" and said we could change the pin and authorized users online now that we know the password.
On top of all of it after dragging the whole family back in to pick out our cases for $20 on that Tuesday after we signed up he wouldn't honor the deal he offered. I saw him run in the back room when we got there. A nice girl greeted us and I explained that the manager had offered to sell us all cases for $20 and she went back to talk to him. She came back out to let us know that he wouldn't do it and he said it was "a same day only promotion" when he and I had specifically talked about doing it on Tuesday. I was so mad already that I just walked out. I didn't want to argue anymore.
I have had the worst time getting anyone in customer service to help me. I waited over an hour to speak to a supervisor once only to be told she was unable to help me due to system limitations. I am just so disappointed that we decided to go with sprint. Oh, and T mobile's data runs like the speed of light compared to sprint. With sprint I am constantly stuck on 3G and can't watch a video without it buffering every 30 seconds and I can't talk on the phone and use data at the same time?! What's up with that?! Get with the times Sprint and get it together. It is pretty sad when someone who left T-Mobile because they were unhappy is even more unhappy with you.
