  • I've never been a fan of this store but the last straw is that several phones on accounts I manage got text messages from a verizonwireless.com e-mail address, spamming us about Black Friday specials. The name on the e-mail address is Sandra McCullough, apparently the general manager of this store. It's just obnoxious and honestly I feel a bit embarrassed that the GM of all people feels the need to spam customers to make sales. While I'm at it, I'll Cliffs Notes my other negative interactions at this store (unfortunately many, as I manage wireless/data plans for my company's nearby offices): * Surly, pushy staff that seem to hate their jobs and don't want to help the customers * Store refuses to give out or even sell new SIM cards - staff insist on physically activating every new SIM in store, which is a HUGE pain when you're managing dozens of lines and also have people from international offices come in who just want to swap SIMs, etc. (Tip: buy SIMs from an authorized 3rd party reseller - each SIM will cost $10, but then you don't have to bring in a phone to activate it every single time.) * Staff make customers wait in line even for online order pickups! I placed an online order and got an e-mail stating it's ready for pickup, but when I got there, staff made me join the general queue anyway! I didn't have time to wait, so I had to make an appointment for the next day - just to pick up an order! * Store charges $20 "activation fee" for phones purchased there for an existing Verizon line - even if literally all they do is hand the brand new phone in a box to you. (Tip: Buy from a 3rd party, then there is no $20 fee - apparently Verizon doesn't want its stores to be competitive.) Looking back on my customer experiences here, I find myself wondering why I put up with this. Definitely thinking about moving my company's business elsewhere.
