  • I am somewhat shocked by some of the previous reviews I have read about Camelback Ford. I purchased my 2017 Focus RS from them in August of 2017. The purchase experience was fantastic. I received top dollar for my trade and an extremely fair price on my RS. It was truly a best-in-class experience for me. After enjoying my RS for 4 months or so I started reading the bad news about faulty head gaskets in the RS and I was dreading the thought of having an issue with mine. In January of this year, Ford voluntarily issued a "recall" program (I don't think it was called that, however) and I received my notice that my RS was part of the pool of the unlucky RS vehicles that likely received the incorrect head gasket. I called Camelback Ford when I received my letter and Charlie S. quickly took control of what I figured would be a bad situation. I had the completely opposite experience. Charlie was pleasant, had a great sense of humor, and sugar-coated nothing for me. He said it could take two days, two weeks, or longer for my car to be repaired. He also told me that he was dependent on part supplies and that my calling him every couple of days would do nothing to expedite the repairs. I love when people call it like it is...and I never bugged Charlie. I showed up at my scheduled time and Charlie kindly hooked me up with a courtesy car. Ironically, he got me into a Grabber-Blue Mustang, the color of which closely resembled my Nitrous Blue RS. We walked around both vehicles, signed some papers, and traded keys. And off I went. Less than two weeks later, I received a call from Charlie letting me know my RS was done, sparkling clean, and waiting for me to pick her up. I picked up my fixed RS the next day. I have to admit the car was almost as pristine as when I dropped it off. I wiped down a few missed grease marks in the engine bay and am feeling pretty good about a repair I really worried about. Truthfully, I dreaded that repair. If you are an auto enthusiast like me, and/or if you have an RS that you are afraid to have the head gasket recall repaired on, look no further than Camelback Ford. And when you call them, ask for Charlie. I can't guarantee he'll hook you up with a Grabber-Blue Mustang, but I can assure you that he will take extremely good care of you and your vehicle. Hats off to the sales and service guys at Camelback Ford. I personally couldn't be any happier with them.
