| - This show is now at the Westgate (old LVH), and is at 8:45p, not 10p. This is a GREAT show. It has been revamped from previous reviews, and is now focused on Prince, with interludes with Morris Day and Jerome, as in the movie Purple Rain.
This isn't just a "cover band". This is a full-out show. Jason Tanner doesn't put on the clothes and makeup and play a character...He has the movements, the voice, the inflections, the interactions DOWN. He *embodies* Prince, in all his glory. I went with friends, one of whom had seen Prince live, and she said this show came close to capturing the energy and passion of the real Prince.
The band itself is stocked with amazing musicians...Watching them, I'd forgotten how complex Prince music really is, and they often focus on the pieces that require more talent than most. Of course, all your favorites will still be there.
Please don't show up if you just want to sit and watch, or stand there like a stiff board. This is a FUN interactive show. We sing along. We dance. And at the end of the night, you feel like you've been to the most fun party you've been to in a long, long time.
As of now, this show has a locals price of $20, and is SO WORTH IT. Go!!! Support this incredible home-grown talent. And then go again, just because it's that much fun.
