| - After a few days of erratic Pittsburgh weather (rain/snow/sun/rain/mud/snow/sun), we dropped by Lather to clean up our fairly stinky puppy.
Our first impression, upon opening the door, was a great one. The space is open, welcoming, bright, and dog-friendly. There are lots of great, high-quality dog treats & products on the shelves, some self-service washing tubs, and the grooming area in the back.
Jeff, the owner, greeted us personally and gave us the intro. The tubs are pretty awesome, with easy entrance, warm temperature-controlled water, attached leash restraint to keep slippy pups from adventuring too far, a selection of awesome shampoos & conditioners, eye wipes, treats, you name it. Within a few moments, we were donning aprons and giving our puppy a bath. At $10, the self-service option is a great one that makes it easy to deliver a stress-free bathing experience for your dog.
When the rather noisy blow-dryer was too much for our puppy (even with the ear covers), Jeff gave her a blow dry with the smaller dryer on the grooming tables. She looked great, smelled great, and had a lot of fun running around with a few other doggy guests.
We'll be back. And we'll definitely be trying the grooming services at Lather, as well as returning to the self-service options.
