I generally like Aloft as a brand because the modern decor is usually appealing to me and so I was looking forward to my brief one day stay here. I also liked how this hotel was situated in the middle of a lot of restaurants and things to do that were within walking distance.
My first impression was a little poor, in that it is confusing on how to reach even the check in desk. You have to go in a side entrance to the building and then figure out what floor to take an elevator up to in order to reach the check in desk. Then you have to take a second elevator to the rooms. The signs are VERY small and very easy to miss for the check in floor.
I was greeted by a nice young man and quickly checked in. I went to my room which was clean and a good size. No odors, clean appearing sheets, and no real issues at all with the room...except for in the evening.
The walls are PAPER thin. I literally could hear every conversation of both of my neighbors and I could hear the drunk people stumbling to their rooms all evening. You can also hear outside, and despite being more than 10 stories off the ground, it was still very easy to hear all the construction/traffic noise all night long. While they did provide a sound machine and earplugs for the noise, it was definitely excessive.
I probably wouldn't come back here as there are many nice hotels in the vicinity that give better value for the price...
