Our Vaughan's "truffles making workshop" takes place at Goemans Appliances, the kitchen appliance store (a maze of refrigerators and ovens, and a working kitchen). Water and coffee are provided, as well as
- GENEROUS amount of chocolate
- generous amount of decorations
- a big fridge to cool the chocolates asap
- the microwave to keep the chocolates warm and easy to work with
- did I mention the GENEROUS amount of chocolate? Even if you're tempted to snack on everything, there will be ample left.
And:
A history lesson on chocolate.
Lots of laughter.
Daniel is our talented chocolatier and teacher. He's super friendly and the class was well-organized. He kept our working area clean, nobody fought for space or tools, and he kept the class moving fairly quickly. I was afraid chocolate will drip onto my camera, it didn't. Liquidy chocolate is messy!!!
In our class, we did:
Truffle set #1: fill pre-made truffle cups
Truffle set #2: stamp shapes out of a soft chocolate bar, mine were triangles.
Truffle set #3: roll the remaining soft chocolate bar into little chocolate balls
We dip all of the above into his beautiful, tempered chocolate and decorate. I made a snowman.
I recommend this delicious class!!
