I gave one star because the room itself seemed clean and there were no bed bugs (believe me, I checked!) But everything else about this strange motel room was cringe-worthy.
The furniture had seen many better days and looked worse than what you'd find in the local Goodwill. There were bugs in the bathroom. Tears and burns in the sheets and the scary burlap-like piece of felt they called a blanket (I had to double up with the one from the other bed to stay warm).
But what was most frightening was the noise. It is adjacent to a landing strip at McCarran Airport and so you are constantly hearing helicopters and aircraft land, sounding like you're in the middle of a warzone. All throughout the night a large CLANG rang out regularly, sounding like a dumpster being dropped from 10 stories. Yes, that loud. I eventually turned on the air/heat unit (which was flush up against the bed) just to drown out the warzone noises.
The Wi-Fi was so slow it was completely unusable. Should not even be considered as a perk. And I'm not talking streaming here, just getting E-mail. Would not load any website.
For me, this was a last-minute booking during CES for one night, so I made a CHEAP mistake.
The worst part is that you can look out the window and see the MGM hotel, wishing that you had had the right mind to book somewhere else in the first place.
