  • Today shocked me, I have used King Windshield in the past and loved them. Very good quality work and product and the customer service was above reproach. Its what made me come back and recommend them to my coworkers and friends, highly in fact. Today, having a large crack/chip in my windshield I was not even stressed, I figured I would call King and it would be taken care of, since I have great insurance, quickly and properly. Not so the case, I called king ( I have several of their business cards in my wallet to give friends ) and a "Wendy" answered the phone . I explained to her that I needed to bring my car in for a windshield repair, she was very blunt, almost rude " Do you have insurance or are you paying out of pocket" I told her I had insurance and she asked who, I said "The Travelers" she got very rude and said " oh they will not let us three way call so you will have to call them and file a claim". There are two companies that won't work directly with us, Travelers and Geico ( hmm, two major insurance companies "Wont work with them on the line" - perhaps a red flag) Basically dismissing me ( I have full coverage and they pay very quick, Travelers has been amazing) I explained to her that has never been the case in the past and could I speak with another of the agents there. "They will tell you the same thing" is all she said, I asked if she was new and she, sounding quite offended, states " No I am not new, I asked again to speak with another agent and "Wendy" says, "Hold On". There is a brief pause, you can hear music and a bunch of girls laughing and talking in the background. Finally a voice comes on and says hello, I ask who is this and the voice say something that sounds like "Audrey or Aubrey" and then goes right into " lets get your insurance on the phone" soon my insurance is on the phone takes all the information, asks to speak to "Wendy" again and gave her the information required. The insurance agent finished and then it was just me and the King agent on the phone, I asked for the name of the original rep I had spoken to and she states "That was me" I asked "Your the one that answered the phone" and she said "Yes" (she never gave me another agent, just laid the phone down for a minute and then pretended to be another agent obviously) I asked her again if she was the original agent I spoke with, she said yes and hung up. Really makes me think King Windshield has taken a turn for the worst and with, Sketchy agents like this doing their customer service what kind of corners are they cutting in the actual windshield replacement part, and why wont two of the biggest insurance companies in the US not work with them on the phone ( I called Travelers and they said they have never heard anything like that and its not true, maybe second red flag) Their page says they hand pick their employees , and in the past the people I have worked with there have been amazing, professional and great to work with. Now I am wondering if there has been a new turnover of help and where are they hand picking from? Rehabs? DES lines? Random street corners? This entire experience now makes me worry, if I bring my vehicle there, will it be inferior product, will they damage my vehicle on purpose? Have they become like these sketchy street corner sign holders with the "Windshield repairs" signs. I am really disappointed in King Windshield now and also am really thinking about calling my insurance company again and telling them not to even bother with King and lets try to find somewhere else to get my windshield repaired.
