| - Where to begin....
First, the parking. If you don't want to be forced to valet, then you better park across the street and walk. Oh well, I decided to go with convenience... Upon entering there was an inviting feel and I was quickly greeted by the smiling hostess. She promptly sat me at one of the very few open tables - and I thought, this is a great sign being that it was 1pm on a Tuesday, but that's where the service started going awry.
Immediately after sitting down a waiter popped up behind me and yelled "hi". He asked what I wanted to order, but I had literally just been seated and hadn't even picked up the menu - so I asked for a minute.... though, 15 minutes later he still hadn't returned. I finally had to flag him down (which I haaaaaaaaate doing) and asked to place some orders while waiting for my sister.
I started with a dark and stormy, I love my cocktails and it was refreshing. For an appetizer I ordered the baked goat cheese. When the appetizer was brought over, it was a different waitress and she rushed by, slammed the plate down, and ran off. It was almost like she was upset at the table - I couldn't imagine what it had done to offend her, but I figured, maybe she's in a hurry and after tasting the food, I was happy. It was very good. The bread was nice and crunchy and the prominent flavor of the goat cheese was balanced out by the tomato sauce at the bottom of the dish.
Next, the entree's - My sister's plate was SLAMMED down first... she just looked at me in a confused way... then another waitress brought my dish and just plopped it down on top of the small appetizer plate and silverware in front of me... I tried to move the stuff out of the way, but before I could she quickly ran off again. Okay, what in the world is happening? We were both a little confused by the abruptness of the servers. Its like they just grabbed these people off the street and gave them an apron. At least the taste of our food was better than the service.
My sister tried the garden, the chicken and the egg (why such a long name for what is basically a salad, I don't know). She said it was very good, nice and refreshing. I tried the french onion burger, it was good and had french onion dip dripping off it, can't complain about that.
Overall, I give it 3 stars because the place had pretty good food and a great vibe (4 stars), but the service left something to be desired (2 stars). I would go back, but I am not in a hurry.
