  • Great hotel, I do like the room styling/decor a lot more here than it's sister resort, the Venetian....although the Grand Canal walkway at Venetian is pretty nice! in any case, was here for the Epicurean Event held on 5/26 by the pools. Second time to this event and again it did not disappoint. I think it was one of the better organized food events that I have been to in vegas. The layout left plenty of spacing between restaurants, and offered a nice, relaxing tour of the offerings. Plenty of alcohol provided....well, never enough alcohol, but nice selection for a food event. I must apologize in advance for the lack of detail on this event, but c'mon, every once in awhile it's nice to enjoy an event or restaurant without worrying about detailing the experience on Yelp right? I can just say that this event was timed perfectly weather wise, and they had great music to accompany the event. One of the standouts I can recall was from RM Seafood/RX Broiler, one of our favorite dining establishments. We got to meet Rick Moonen, very personable, friendly, great sense of humor. Buffalo fish tacos, good, given the setting they had to prepare them in. Another was the porcinni ravioli which I really enjoyed, and the caprese salad my dining companion raved about. I believe these were from a Mario Batali kitchen. There were prime rib sliders from Morels (I think), that were tasty, although a bit skimpy on the prime rib, they were good. I was a little disappointed in some of the wines offered. There was a good variety of stations offering wines, but none really stood out. I cleary remember an offering from Argentina that really had a great aroma, but tasted pretty bad. There were some nice bourbon and whiskeys offered, as well as Titos, YES! A few misses were a pasta offered by Tao (pasta?), and pulled pork sliders from a BBQ joint that was "soon to come". Again, sorry for the lack of detail fellow Yelpers, I really meant to pay better attention, but I really was a bit more focused on enjoying the evening with my "Epicurean" companion, Great event, well worth the money, I definitely will be back next year!
