| - We moved into our home in March of 2016, and learned that we had a roof rat problem shortly thereafter, which unfortunately was not disclosed by the previous owners. Critter Tech came out and Jason said they were eating our citrus and getting into our attic via the roof. He mentioned that it was possible they were coming up through the sewers, but in his professional opinion, that was likely not the case and told us a smoke test was not needed. They set traps for four weeks and then supposedly sealed up all exterior holes. The rats disappeared for the summer, and we thought the problem was solved. Fast forward to November and cooler weather. As we are eating dinner in our dining room last week, a rat peeks its head out from behind a cabinet and stares me in the face. Two days later, I find a dead rat in the washing machine. Critter Tech came back out and said all the exterior holes were still sealed up, acted like it was no big deal, and that the rat(s) probably came in through the doggy door so we should keep that closed at night. Today, I noticed a bunch of sheet rock on top of the washing machine and when I looked up, I noticed a gaping hole in the ceiling next to the light fixture, directly above the washing machine. It does not take a genius to figure out that is how the rat got in the washing machine. I called Critter Tech again, and now their suggestion is to pay another $250+ to do a smoke test to see if the rats are coming in through the sewer/plumbing. I feel like we have already paid a bunch of money to take care of the issue, the problem is clearly not solved, and now they want us to pay even more money, and "maybe" this solution will work? How much more will we have to pay if it's discovered they are coming in through the plumbing? I'm sure there will be another fee to seal up any openings revealed by the smoke test. Totally frustrated and disappointed.
