I had a few good experiences at the Markham Hilton:
1) For the past four years, I ordered the Christmas Turkey dinner that you pick up on Dec. 25th and finish cooking in your own home. Every year everything is ready on time and tastes great. You get a Turkey for 8, choice of home made pie or cake, fresh bread, stuffing, veggies, potatoes and a giant salad with two types of dressing and some gravy. It take about an hour or so to heat everything. They stop cooking the food early so as you reheat, everything finishes cooking - nothing is overcooked. A great experience every year. Cost = $189
2) Attended two new years eve parties in the past. They have one in their ballroom with a buffet and a second party option in the "Essence of Unionville" restaurant in the hotel. I tried the Essence option and it came with a 7 course dinner, wine and champagne (had to pay for my beer). The buffet option is cheaper but never tried it. You can select from two options for each course. Also a great experience both times. Cost = $100/person.
3) Stayed in the room's for item #2 and had a great experience. If you buy tickets for the New Years events, the room is at a discounted rate. Comfy bead, quick room service and very clean. I was very happy with the room. Staff was always attentive and very polite / helpful during all my experiences.
Recommended for holiday experiences and rooms.
