| - So I'll start with the basics. The facilities themselves are very nice - not over the top beautiful but more utilitarian and comfortable. The front desk staff seem a little brusque and kind of "over it", and the cleaning staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. The environment is social and considerably more bustling than somewhere like La Scandinave, and "spa voices" are more of a suggestion rather than something enforced. It's pricey, but if you like this sort of thing, definitely worth it. My friends and I didn't get any other spa services so I can't comment on those.
Now let me tell you this ridiculous story. I went with two of my friends as a "treat yourself" kind of experience for a few hours. We were sitting in a steam room, and there was a group of three young women, and a pair of two women maybe in their 40s. The younger women were talking, trying to figure out where the steam comes out of, or how it's regulated, and one of the women in their 30's pointed at a vent and said "and that's where the chlorine gas comes in". Maybe don't say things like that out loud even if you're thinking it. Maybe there's someone in the room who thinks casual jokes about gas chambers are appalling. Maybe, if you're lucky, there's a Jew around like me.
Moral of the story is: don't make gas chamber jokes in a steam room? It's also not like she got any laughs. Her delivery sucked.
