I have lived in several cities in the past few years including San Francisco, Dallas, and Grand Rapids. Painting events like these are usually my favorite activity to do with my friends when they come into town. I recently bought groupon for 2 people at the approx price of $35. I was scheduled to come on Sunday and the confirmation didn't list the time of the painting event.
I mixed up the time and arrived at the very end.
I actually ended up walking in at the end.
The owner and host, Molly, was there when I walked in and she was like "you were the two that didn't show." She made it seem like she would send me a voucher back for me to use at another time. I emailed her. And she sent me a voucher...
However, it was only for 50% off. She wasn't even clear through her communications with me that she was going to though this! She made it seem
like i'd have the best voucher to share with all my friends & family! (Yeah, right!). I did end up telling her I wouldn't come back in my last email. The very least she could offer was for me to come back (since I bought 2)... But, she didn't.
The main take-aways from me are the following:
1) I took a chance on coming to a painting event like this in a new city especially when there were no reviews and my experience was BAD!
2) When you look at Molly's website you will see there are limited things you'd even want to paint... It took me awhile to even pick a date as a result
3) Molly did not provide the good customer service. She didn't even bother to write me back when I told her I would not use her voucher
Fellow yelpers, I would caution you to attend this event at the full or valued cost. When a place isn't reviewed on yelp, it's a red flag!
