| - I wished I read the review before we went for dinner. The menu looks great online and everything sound yummy but I was a little bit disappointed by the flavors. Now if you just wanted something simple, this is the place but definitely not a Foodie place.
When we arrived, we were seated but they seated us at the sushi bar, which we asked to be seated at the table afterward. It took about five minutes before someone came and asked if we were helped. It was a Monday and the place looked slow, just like the service. And it has nothing to do with the server, he was tentative as much as possible but as we looked around, they were unorganized in staffing. Which that is management's job. There were too many bussers and not enough waitstaff, so our server was running around until he had only one table (us) to be able to be more attentive.
Now the food is another story to tell; we ordered the Korean Street Tacos, kimchi fried rice, teriyaki salmon and sizzling Asian snapper:
Korean Street Taco was actually really good. The beef was tender and seasoned nicely; the vegetable dressing was julienne and was perfect and the onion pancake was sized perfectly for this small bite. The only thing I thought was strange was the pancake. Most onion pancakes are nice and crispy but this was soft and doughey (probably didn't spell that correctly), but the dressing made up for any strange texture taste that may have come from it.
The only highlight of the meal was the kimchi friend rice. It was spicy and delicious. Crunchy and soft!
The teriyaki salmon was good. It had a nice char-grilled touch to it with the sweet/salty teriyaki.
The disappointment was my sizzling Asian snapper. There was nothing sizzling about it! When we hear or read sizzling, we image flavor! Heat! Smoke and hot! I got none! The snapper tasted under-cooked, there was no flavor but cilantro and where was this sesame-soy dressing? I was very disappointed about the flavor or lack of...
Overall experience wasn't pleasant enough for me to want to drive back. The only suggestion I would advise is, if you're there and we just want something to eat, then sure why not but I would rather go to the buffet and wait...and I don't mean to sound harsh but it is not what I imagine. Especially if they are going to brag how the chef is a winner on the Food Network show...
