Lawrence Dunham Wine Gallery is a great addition to Old Town Scottsdale. The newly renovated space is very inviting & charming. The wine flights are fun to try. It's hard to pick a favorite but the Signature Petite Sirah is the top of the list for me. Sky Island Viognier is great if you are in the mood for white wine.
The tasting room has 2 great patios and acoustic guitars on some nights. It is a new favorite place to enjoy friends & wine - what could be better? Owners Peggy & Curt have created the art gallery to adjoin the tasting room and have specialty items for sale from local AZ businesses. Peggy will make a custom gift basket with their own label balsamic vinegars & oils, wine & some of the other selections in the shop.
They just started doing Flights & Bites, which is great before dinner. This is a collaboration with food trucks. It is so delicious & is paired with the wine! I am glad I got to try that.
The LDV vineyard itself is in Pearce, AZ. Curt & Isla gave me a detailed breakdown of the characteristics of each wine. It's amazing how weather can effect the character of the grapes. Each year the wines can be slighty unique.
I can see this becoming a classy, southwestern wine version of "Cheers" - where everyone knows your name! Great job, Lawrence Dunham Vineyards!
