| - Marché des Saveurs has become an indispensable stop on any visit to Marché Jean Talon (which has become an indispensable stop on any trip to Montreal) and is a great store for an array of specialty food items and Quebec craft beer.
I've found the staff to be very friendly, and although they will all greet you in French you shouldn't be shy about requesting English if it's easier for you. Both times that I have asked for recommendations or advice at the cheese counter the staff have been spot on and made delicious recommendations. They also offer respectable selections of charcuterie and freezer items, plus a large number of more touristy items (maple everything, iced cider, artisan chocolates and cookies, etc.) There is also a wine section, but unfortunately I have not had occasion to visit it... yet. I haven't been in a few weeks so I can't remember for sure, but I'm tempted to say that the one thing they're lacking is fresh bread and pastries (although they do have nice looking boxed pies for sale.) They also don't even try to compete with the produce selection in the market, but I certainly don't fault them for it.
Bottom line: they don't have the biggest selection of anything in particular, but if you don't need produce and don't have time to go through every shop in the area, you can be sure that you'll find a nice selection of delicious products at Marché des Saveurs, so it's a great choice as a one-stop shop, should you need it. They are also open one hour later than the main market - which is handy if you get there near the end of the day.
