| - Very nice, very nice.
My daughter and I stayed here while we were in town for some college tours. Great location, in the heart of town. For us it meant just a two block walk uphill to visit Duquesne University which was very convenient.
The accommodations were most definitely up to the Marriott standard, the lobby was immaculate with plenty of staff offering to assist us in any way possible. The check-in staff were friendly and very accommodating. We made our reservation through Priceline and paid a very reasonable rate for our stay. The room itself was very clean, and yes, I check every hotel room I stay in, no bed bugs here. It may sound overly cautious but I've heard horror stories so I take no chances. This place is very clean, I like that.
The beds were very comfortable, since I had the chance to dissect the beds I can tell you on top of the mattress they have two covers, one quilted and one just as a cover, the mattresses themselves were also pretty new. Very comfortable, no problems falling asleep here.
I loved the technology ports on the desk for not only charging your electronics but also video ports to hook your laptop directly into the TV. Very convenient for watching movies from your laptop when there's nothing on TV!
Also, as far as location goes, you walk out the back door and you're on 5th Avenue which will take you further downtown where there is a bevy of shops and restaurants to pick from.
They have several parking options including valet and self parking. I chose the self-parking ($22/night) with unlimited in and out privileges. I found it to be the most convenient. The garage is connected to the lower lobby of the hotel so it's very easy to hop of the elevator from the garage.
It's a nice place to stay, we enjoyed our stay at the Marriott and would easily stay here again the next time we're in Pittsburgh.
