Read this and you will understand what the two stars (Iv'e experienced better)
This is hard to write because I used to come here at least twice a month with small to large business groups for years when I worked out of our Phoenix office. This was a place where the food and the service were consistently above average.
Although they would always be crowded, they were quick to seat our group without reservations at a clean table where the service was equally fast and friendly. The food was great, chips and salsa a personal favorite and my favorite sizzling fajitas were always as good as the last time,.
It did not mater if our group was 3 or 12 people they were a well tuned operation that delivered great food at a great price. My other favorites would be their spinach enchiladas, Carne Asada plate, Caldo De Res and guacamole.
What I write now is based from in frequent visits over a couple of years.
WTF happened!!!! This is not my Garcias that I have taken customers, peers and friends to in the past. The service, food and atmosphere are very different in a negative way. Was there a change in management, did the family walk away from the business, is third cousin removed Felix running the place?
The service is slow, inefficient, non-attentive and lacks the welcome that was once present and made this place a staple for Mexican food. food is now bland, inconsistent and does not have the same freshness that you could count on when I came regularly from 2006-2014.
I do not write this to scare people away because the current Garcia's Management is doing that without any help at all. I write this because I want things to go back to the way they were and Garcia's to be the place I cannot wait to not only eat, but to share the experience with others, and I know I am not alone in my opinion.
Iv'e experienced better at the old Garcias, and I would give five stars to that one everyday of the week!
By the way, chips and salsa are still good.
Get it together.....
