| - I was recently introduced to Consignment Cottage by a friend, and I was quite impressed! This has to be one of the bigger consignment stores in the Pittsburgh area....so many racks of clothes, including a HUGE wall of jeans! This is definitely the place to come if you're looking for jeans. There is a mix of brands here, not all of which are higher-end, so it does take a bit of treasure hunting to find the good stuff. I like that the clothes are well-organized....everything is clearly sorted by clothing type, size, and color, so it's very easy to target your browsing to what you're in the market for. They carry a range of sizes, from XS to 2X (and maybe even higher), and I think it's nice that they have options for people of all sizes. I found the prices to vary...some stuff was a great deal, while others seemed a little high for the quality. I did find several items here that were in great shape (some still with tags!) that were priced well.
The customer service here was really great. As we were browsing, the woman working (possibly the owner?) continually took the clothes we were carrying from us and set up dressing rooms so that we didn't have to lug stuff around as we shopped. They also have some sort of "frequent shoppers" punch card that gives you rewards each time you buy. As a first timer, I started a new card, and I look forward to filling it up on return trips!
Oh, and be sure to check out the little barn next to the main clothing shop....it's filled with adorable furniture for your home. Much of it looked to be really high quality pieces....I'm kinda upset I didn't know about this when my husband and I bought our house!
