Attempted to go to another neighborhood coffe shop and gave up in frustration when I could find absolutely no parking. I was heading down Monroe when this place caught my eye.
After circling around the block (parking is tricky with tight side streets and obstructed views on a busy Monroe), I was pleasantly surprised by the openess and tons of natural light inside.
There is ample seating at comfy fireside chairs, high stool & chair bar tops or a mix of tableands and benches. Personally, I would have preferred a different mix of morning music on the overhead sound system - it was a little too rough and loud for my tastes.
The Three Cheese sandwich had soft, spongy bread and a nice blend of cheese. I would definitely recommend eating while hot and over a newspaper (it is pretty drippy.)
This is neighborhood shop that welcomes a mix of all ages, either working, reading, knitting, visiting or studying -- just the way all coffee shops should be.
