My experience at Hmp is probably similar to many ladies out there. I saw a lot of marketing and photos on instagram of woman going to her majesty's pleasure (probably mostly promoters). So I thought to give it a shot. Me and my friend came here on a Tuesday night to avoid wait times. There was only 3 customers inside on a Tuesday night at a beauty parlour/mini bar. Me and my friend decided to get a cocktail at the bar while waiting for our turn. The drinks were great. They were over priced compared to other bars on king street. My friend was seated first since only one technician opened up. When we booked the appointment, it was confirmed that we can get our nails done at the same time.
I don't know which woman out there that goes to nail salon with their friend and waits while one person gets the nails done at a time. Do they not understand the whole point of woman going to nail salons together is to chat and catch up?!
It's been half an hour since my friend has been seated as I finished my gin cocktail. I'm staring at my phone back and forth waiting for my turn to get my nails done. Almost 45 minutes has past since we arrived here, and my friend's nails are done. Now I'm seated to get my nails done as my friend is waiting for me in the tight nail lounge. This is absolutely crazy.
I have never seen a nail salon being so unprofessional like this. On top of that, they were clearly short staffed on a weekday because the nail technician rushed through my friend's nails and my nails as well.
No surprise, both of our nails didn't last more than 3 days. We have spent over $135 altogether including 2 cocktails, nails and tip!
Definitely won't be coming back again. Was definitely not worth the money and frustration of sitting in a short staffed salon. (Which they promised on the phone that there will be 2 technicians doing our nails at the same time when we come in).
I definitely would not trust the instagram and other social media marketing hype they're imposing. It's pretty obvious this place needs better customer service.
