Two words...people watching! The best part of Carolina's RenFest is without a doubt the menagerie of actors, misfits, families, and online gamers! I was surprised I didn't hear any discussion about World of Warcraft while I was there...but hey...I probably wasn't in the mix.
If you have been to other Renaissance Festivals...this one is pretty much like the other ones you've been to. The ticket prices aren't bad and the amount of money you bring depends on how much you want to eat, drink, or bring home.
The traffic is nothing short of an ADHD explosion about to happen. Get in early...and leave early...or it's going to be a long ride there and back.
If you're bringing kids...plan what you want to see and try to stick with a schedule. There are lots of stages and fun acts to watch. Many of the attractions are interactive...so be prepared to pull your stick out of the mud. How much fun you have is going to be directly related to what you put into the day.
Try: Loosening up and go with the flow
Avoid: Buying your kids weapon toys until you're leaving (What did you really think was going to happen?)
