| - A tenant's furnace was only briefly kicking on and then shutting off, so I called a place the prior homeowner had used. Didn't get an answer after a day despite voicemails left, so I searched the internet for someone else. A couple did not answer, but when I called Top Notch I got through. He quoted me at $125 for him to come out (weekend rate, whereas weekdays are $87) and said he'd be over shortly. He showed up within a half hour, I told him the problem and he opened up the furnace. Instantly he said "I know what the problem is". It was a problem with how tubing was installed, so he cut it, flicked it off and on, and the furnace began to run properly. I checked the tenant's apartment and it was working.
In addition, I mentioned the other tenant I have was complaining of a lack of air getting out, so he opened that up and it had the same problem. Fixed it, and I will inquire with the tenants if their heating has improved. No extra charge for looking at the second furnace, I paid him what he quoted and we were done within twenty minutes.
They know what they are doing and were honest. The next time I have a problem I will go straight to him. Pretty standard rates, he instantly came out and he did not try to take advantage of my lack of knowledge. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
