| - This started out to be a 5 Star + rating. Things later went wrong.
"Eek, me thinks not" above, does not begin to describe it. 3 days have passed and I'm still fuming. What started out to be 5 stars is a low 1. In fact we're moving into the negative numbers on this now.
Now don't get me wrong, there are some very courteous, helpful people there, but the other day I took my VW there for some somewhat preventive maintenance; not something you want to wait to long to have repaired.
During their rigorous checks to ensure vehicle safety, they somehow missed out on pointing out that a directional signal was not working. I did not discover this till I got home. Yes, to my way of thinking THAT is something requiring immediate attention. Upon calling AutoNation back about bringing it back at once, I got a bit more of a runaround than I was expecting.
Also, see here's the part that got my blood going the wrong way to begin with. A mild irritation:
See, during that same visual check, one mechanic noted, or told me anyway, that a belt had a crack in it and they would replace the whole works in there before it breaks. Price tag? Right around $3,000.00 That's right. Three-thousand dollars.
Once before I think it was Findley of Henderson though, they missed the fact that I needed a new windshield wiper. However, the service guy was quick to point out that I should replace my water pump. Price tag? Around $900. (Nine-Hundred.) Oh, and that they would 'need' the car for around 6 hours. I am NOT making this up. Libel and slander ain't my game. Want proof? Ask me. I've got it.
Upon someone at least claiming to be a manager there having seen my review, I got an e-mail. He wanted to know if I had the receipt etc. because he couldn't find it.
Of COURSE I DID. so I e-mailed it to him. He actually defended his employees actions.
Bottom line: DON'T BOTHER BUYING FROM FINDLEY OR AUTONATION. MAYBE, their employees are under pressure by upper management to sell, sell, sell and that the general public is filled with embeciles', morons and complete idiots.
My advice, avoid Autoland and Findley. YES, this WILL be a difficult task, they're all over the place. Maybe if you're buying a new, fully warranted vehicle you'll be alright. But don't expect getting something you'll want to hang onto once your warranty expires.
As for my most recent visit; I expected, so did not mind the initial investment of the 3 or so total hours it originally took for the repairs. But the extra time I had to put forth. An extra 3 hours. I took the car to Sears to have the flasher bulb replaced. This is not a DIY job. It was another charge I had to pay additional labor for. An extra $40.00 at Sears. Would this not have been included had the visual check been done properly or with an attitude of giving a crap? My free day began around 10 upon my arrival there. Would have been over at two p.m. (2:00 p.m. no biggie I was expecting and planned for something like that.) BUT. It took another hour or so AT least at Sears just waiting. Then the bill from them that was completely avoidable. I did not get home til 5:30.
Is this something you want on your day off, or your lunch hour? If so, go right ahead and be my guest.
To recap: yes, both dealerships have some very nice, professional helpful employees, but dishonesty business practices are either encouraged or the bad apples are messing it up for everybody. It's not even safe, or just barely safe to trust them Sorry good guys in there. My sincere apologies. Seriously. Folks, Good luck. Don't forget I told you so.
