  • Fantastic view and engineering feat from what I think has to rival views granted from the Golden Gate Bridge or any bridge in New York City. Personally, I found the walk along this bridge to be just as enjoyable as the Hoover Dam visit. I cannot really convey the sense of accomplishment the Hoover Dam is, but it's breathtaking in person. This bridge was a wonderful idea from a practicality standpoint and a cosmetic standpoint. Access to the bridge is directly along the route to Hoover Dam, and you would be amiss to skip it, unless you suffer from vertigo. Also, as you reach the middle of the dam directly over the Colorado River, it gets VERY windy. This is not conducive to panoramic shots, unfortunately, but still provides great photo chances. As you near access to the Dam, you will encounter a brief car inspection at a security checkpoint. As far as parking, I did get lucky because it's a pretty small lot. I'm not sure what you're supposed to do if the lot is at capacity. From a tourist standpoint, restrooms are available in the parking lot, and the ramp up to the entrance area of the bridge is ADA/stroller compliant (ugh, strollers). Be absolutely careful to not drop your phone when you're up here, because of that obnoxious wind. Keep a death grip on it. The other nice thing about a visit here is it's not overly touristy, as it really wasn't that crowded even for a mild March Saturday. Plenty of information about the bridge is available but to be honest, I'm more the type to learn about things online. I can't say I have yet hit a ton of bridges in my life, but I have to imagine this would be a top 5. Views: 5/5 Photo ops: 4.5/5 Selfie sticks apparent: Dozens and dozens and dozens
