I would give them zero stars if I was able to. I am a disabled veteran who utilizes a service dog. I attempted to come in after walking my dog a few days ago and was held outside by an employee who was holding the doors so I could not enter, verbalizing that his manager told him to not allow me and my dog to enter. After other people needed access to the store, I followed them inside, but he refused me service verbalizing that I fit the description of what his manager said "was a woman with a aggressive dog. ". I attempted to show my card that shows my rights as a disabled person with a service animal and he refused to take it. He also wanted to know what my disability was, and when I told him that was against my rights, especially with a store full of people that he was out of line. He continued to verbally assault me and would not wait on me and I asked for him to call the police. He never would call the police and ended up calling his manager who told him if the dog was on a leash to serve me. He also threw his arms in the air when I told him that along with a physical disability I also had PTSD, he stated that that was not a disease and did not require a service dog and laughed saying what a joke! I have never felt so insulted and hurt at any Store or place that I go with my dog. He is not aggressive and does his job well. I kept telling him he had the wrong person but he would not listen. I am leaving this review as a reminder how insensitive some people can be towards veterans and their dogs. It's important for people to understand that they're doing a job for the person with a disability. Corporate offices will be called concerning this matter. If you were there on that afternoon would you please contact me via yelp I would like to talk with you. I already have statements from a few others, along with recording's of what took place.
** two week update; I've made several calls to the corporate office with no return calls. I have heard from four of the people that witnessed the situation that took place on that afternoon, and they are willing to do what must be done to make Circle K be in compliance with disabled people and their service dogs. It looks like litigation is the next step.
