  • I went back to have my glasses adjusted, and I requested someone new - Casey, Ron, or Doug. Doug was the one at the desk, as it turned out, so he saw me. Let me tell you, he was a revelation. He asked what the problem was (glasses sliding down, me having to tense my muscles to counter it, leading to strain and headaches). So, turns out that the earpieces should touch the back of the ears. Which he checked for. Mine didn't (the other optician had not even bothered to check that). He also said that he could replace the plastic nose pads with silicone pads, which would also help. Again - had not been mentioned to me by previous optician. Not only that, but he was friendly and accommodating. He seemed interested in seeing that I was happy with the glasses, rather than just out of his sight. He brought the glasses back and tested them by pulling and feeling several times - something that the other optician had not done. At this point, I thought, "Well, now that someone seems to care, I'll ask about other things." So I said that they seemed a little crooked. So he lay them out on the table, looked at them several ways (again, need I add, that the other optician had never done this, even when I told her the same thing). He did something, then had me try them on again. It still seemed a little crooked, so he took them in the back and did some adjustment that made them even better. I left feeling not as if I'd been cheated and kicked out, but, rather, wanting to stay longer 'cuz he was so nice. He seemed concerned that the adjustment he'd done to make them tighter might start to produce strain after a few hours of wearing, but told me that, if it occurred, I could just come back, and they could loosen it a bit. On the drive home, I didn't have to adjust them once (usually, I'd have had to do it about four or five times). So, wow. Great. Why can't they all be like Doug? Maybe most are. I haven't had Casey or Ron, so I can't speak about them. But, yeah, just great. Can't say enough good things about him. So, yeah, just a word to customers - if you go for a glasses adjustment and feel as if you've been bum-rushed out the door, come back in the door and request to see Doug (or maybe, also, Casey or Ron). 'Cuz, my bet is, you saw the other one.
