I had lost confidence in Las Vegas doctors a long time ago when I was diagnosed incorrectly multiple times and was informed I needed extreme testing and surgeries that were not necessary (I opted to not do these). I had been traveling to UCLA, one of the best hospitals in the nation, to continue my needed visits. After having a family of my own recently, it has made it that much more challenging to travel for something that a doctor should have the capacity to do in my residing city and I began once again researching for a GI doctor in Las Vegas. Thanks to all my fellow yelpers I was able to find Dr. Chen. Learning that he graduated from UCLA medical school sparked my interest. Unfortunately, I was not able to receive my medical records before my initial appointment and explained my medical history to Dr. Chen the best to my ability. He was in the room with me for about 45 minutes all the while very attentive and thoroughly explaining all the anatomy, possible causes and treatments. I left his office with a lot of blood work orders and MRI testing to be scheduled. At my follow up appointment he provided me with the results for all testing (something no doctor has ever done) and diagnosis with treatments. Unfortunately, my case is very particular and unique and still requires additional testing that no medical facility in the area can accommodate so I will have to make another trip out of town to have this testing done. Dr. Chen has called me exclusively to update me on future testing and has emailed me personally with useful information to reference on regarding previous conversations. So far I have been very pleased with the staff and this doctor in particular. Now his office is a 45 minute drive from home for me but totally worth it as I think I have found my new doctor!
