I have been coming to Century 23 since 2006, ever since I abandoned Windows machines in favor of the infinitely better Macbook Pros, if only because they are not subject to attacks by malware that routinely kill Win-Tel machines. I understand from Nick that until the 90's he owned a factory authorized Mac retail ship in town, employing 30 people--until Apple effectively pushed out independents. Now in this spartan, no-frills shop he runs a very different operation. Ron, his son-in-law, is an excellent tech. He endeared himself to me when he and Nick stayed overtime until 7:30PM to solve some photo resizing glitches in setting up (Microsoft) Power Point slides from my Mac i-Photo images. These guys will not give up on problems. That is why he and another employee (an electrical engineer) are routinely called in their capacity as consultants by Nellis Airfare base to straighten out their computer problems. For my latest project, they took one of my crashing old MacBook Pros (7 years old) and installed a solid state drive, managing to retain all the data. It now runs far better than it ever did with the OEM mechanical hard drive. One other area where they can't be beat: security. They know how to remove data from computers to military specs in case you wish to resell the computer--something that simply cannot be done on the Windows platform. They also know all about One-Password, which is a very secure program for storing passwords that's very hard to overcome for data thieves. Nick and Ron are so good that the factory retailer on Las Vegas Boulevard routinely sends its customer to this shop to do all the more challenging repairs. I recommend Century 23 with no reservations.
