| rev:text | I'll start with my spa treatment. 50 minute hot stone massage with Jennifer was five stars amazing. I'll never be able to have a regular message again now that I know the true joy that is hot stone. Jennifer was very nice, soothing soft voice and had great strength behind the stones. Sometimes female masseurs just don't have the strength or ommph I'm looking for in a therapeutic massage but Jennifer was skilled and the hot stone massage was basically perfect. I really wish there had been some face work included in the treatment but Jennifer did such a thorough and intensive job on my aching back and neck that it more than made up for the absence of face work. At the end of the massage I found my robe had been somehow kept warm and lightly scented of lemongrass, very nice touch.
The spa itself is pretty nice. There is a spacious jacuzzi, cold submersion pool, sauna and a steam room. All of these amenities were nice and relaxing, plus there were convenient lounge, showers, bathrooms and locker rooms. While my massage was really wonderful there are a few things that keep me from giving the actual spa more than 3 stars. I noticed kind of a lot of black grime on the grout of the tile in the jacuzzi and a few other spots around the spa that just made me feel like maybe these details should be noticed and remedied by the staff. ie: clean better! The staff within the spa was also somewhat surly, to the point that they were obviously annoyed by all the patrons dirtying the showers and towels and so on. The staff at the front desk was dramatically nicer however.
All in all, without many spas to compare this to, Red Rock spa was nice and relaxing but not Oh My Gosh fabulous. They make a good effort at providing an upscale, relaxing experience but the noticeable spots about the spa that need to be cleaned kind of raises a red flag. Despite that I still enjoyed myself and went on both Friday and Saturday. The fantastic hot stone massage is really what makes this place great. I imagine their other spa treatments are very nice too. The 50 minute hot stone was pretty pricey but honestly worth it. It was a much needed break and I thank Jennifer for doing a wonderful job. |
