| - We all know that "big box stores" can be not so great for customers, and we wonder how good they are for employees, but I'm here this morning to report a thoroughly happy experience. I checked the website for the tree lot hours specifically, before driving to this store a little after 6 am to get myself a fresh Christmas tree. Although the web said it opened at 6, the lot was dark, the nursery doors weren't open, so I wandered in to the order desk, where a lady behind the counter with long blond hair went far beyond what she needed to do to get me help. First she called and then paged a guy who might help me, then when he didn't respond, she walked outside all the way to the nursery doors and asked for him. Another worker told her he wouldn't be in until 7:30. She let me know that and then she offered to ask her manager if he might help me. She explained that not all the employees could operate the cutting and bagging apparatus. I thanked her, not really expecting much at this point and told her I would be in the nursery. About ten minutes later she came and found me, and brought another employee along, who walked me to the lot, let me in, even pulled a tree from the very back of the bin I was looking at. He had to go back through the front door, open the nursery door, get the power cord, light the lot, then cut and bag my tree. He was polite and friendly at this crazy early hour. Thanks so much for this pleasant experience, hoping they see this and get some appreciation for the helping spirit they showed me this morning. Note to self: great people are where you find them, and everyone has the capacity for helping others, so let them surprise you with their effort. Thanks for the smiles!
