if i could give jaspers 6 stars , I would! my meal at jaspers rates among one of the best meals I've ever had. jasper's can be best described as louisiana cuisine.
i ordered the halibut sandwich and my choice of a side (soup or salad). i went with the red beans and rice which turned out to be an excellent choice. my halibut sandwich was nice and the fish was tender. i loved my red beans and rice and i would've been happy with just the red beans and rice as my meal. mr h ordered the jambalaya which they are known for! of course i had to taste a few bites and it was crazy good and spicy.. but not too spicy! he had only one comment about his dish that it was a bit on the salty side for his taste- otherwise he really enjoyed it. the jambalaya had these huge shrimp and andouille sausage. we arrived before the dinner crowd last saturday, however i can see this small but cozy place filling up quickly on the weekends. the patio was quite large and lovely. north scottsdale is a bit of a drive for me but was worth the drive. overall great food, attentive service, nice atmosphere-5 stars.
