I am not horribly picky when it comes to food. But I have worked in the service industry for 10 years and I know that when there is a sticker on any type of produce, you are supposed to peel it off before serving the item. Especially if you take the time to slice it up first... Which usually involves looking at it.
I got a bagel with lox and when I got to my office and opened the box, I noticed the produce sticker was still on my slice of tomato. Lo and behold the other slice had the sticker on it too. How lucky am I?
Makes me wonder if they even rinsed the tomatoes before serving them. Needless to say I didn't eat the tomatoes. And I picked at the rest because my mind got the better of me.
I will most likely not be returning to this store. Which is a bummer, but there are so many places where I know for a fact they pay attention to the food they are serving.
I feel dramatic but beware the tomatoes!
