I recently had a filling done by Dr. Pounds that should have easily been a simple in-and-out procedure with little hassle. It was a very superficial biting-surface cavity that resulted in deep tooth pain, an uneven bite, and multiple visits. For the record, I've had fillings done in the past on cavities that were far more severe than this one from different dentists in the past - all without a hitch. I don't understand how somebody can just drill away at a tooth and slop filling into it like they were hurriedly cramming extra clothes into a suitcase before catching a flight.
I was a former patient of her office when it was also housed Dr. Cantor, my previous dentist. For reasons that remain a mystery to me, he no longer is part of the downtown office, and I was never informed of his withdrawal. I can say with full confidence that the office was much better when he was around, not just from a patient perspective, but also as a Pittsburgher. Dr. Cantor would frequently enter the news cycle for doing something that truly added to the Pittsburgh community, and it is a real shame to hear that no longer happens. This office has clearly lost its heart, and unfortunately it seems like I will have to find my care elsewhere.
