| - I went here on the strength of the rave reviews it has online, and because it's walking distance from work. Reception was fairly friendly but a bit distracted and sent me upstairs to see my (randomly selected) stylist. I've forgotten his name, but he was not one of the two Master stylists.
I had to wait for a while, as he was running late. His style of conversation was chirpy but a bit odd - he kept making jokes at my expense. He asked what I did and laughed at the answer - maybe he wasn't expecting someone of my gender to be in Technology? It certainly didn't make me feel welcome or respected. He also shared quite a lot of salon gossip with me, which made me a bit uncomfortable. However, my main problem with him was that he actively refused to do what I asked him and told me it wouldn't look good. We compromised in the end, but I also asked for a simple, straight cut, anything but choppy, and he gave me choppy. I was so frustrated, I went home and recut some of the more aggravating parts myself (and I am definitely not experienced in cutting my own hair in any way).
It's not the worst hair cut I've ever had, but for a Salon lauded to the heavens, it was supremely disappointing (not to mention a total waste of money).
